I've been reading again, almost back to the pace I was at a few years ago, so that even when walking from place to place I'm seen with my nose in a book, (and quite often headphones blaring and clove smoldering.) Either way whether it's lack of letters to occupy my line of sight, or reading kick starting further literacy, I've found myself blogging while waiting in an airport terminal.
Now that I've started I can't seem to remember what the central focus was to be. Isn't that always the way? Follow an impulse and poof? "What was I doing here?"
I suppose the reading is a strong a start as any. I've just finished the second book in The Looking Glass Wars. I try not to read new things, but had heard of it then showed to Gladys who of course will jump for anything Alice(Alyss) related. When she finished I killed it and guilted another friend into loaning me her copy of the second book(I swear it was accidental) I hear that there is a graphic following a character through part of the first book(I must find it). Back to the point I am now languishing between books, also waiting for a fourth dexter book. So now I'm between multiple series, ugh.
Before those I finished Joe Hill's Heart Shaped Box, passed to me by another friend. Was an awesome book, a promising writer. Horror, but less cheesy that suspense. I, like the rest of the world am a huge Gaiman fan and was impressed by the feel if this book. A bit short but got everything done.
Once And Future King before that, I read White's Book of Merlin back in middle school and thought I was picking that back up, but was pleasantly surprised when I found it to be a much wider vision of Camelot.
The Dexter series I've mentioned already, and I actually received the first season of the show on dvd for my birthday. (Still haven't watched them, I'm so ashamed). I loved the books and was giving the series not because of gushing over the books but because they deemed it my humor, completely on their own accord. And oh how on the mark they were, I need to buy those books that are out (I was loaned the set I read) cause I know I'll re-read them and try passing them about.
I've also caught up on some of my comics, Deadpool, Moon Knight, assorted one shots and teams. Mostly Marvel, Kevin Smith being the exception. Excelsior!!!
Ok so boarding starts here in a couple, so I'd better not try and start on a new topic, as I see even for not really having a starting point I've managed to ramble a bit. Guess that's the idea. Next stop, music. ;)
